Chapter 15: Employee Advocacy
Hello readers and fellow bloggers. Today I wanted to discuss Employee Advocacy. Employee advocacy is a very crucial element within a business. One of the main reasons being the authenticity of the organization. Employees can give the consumer a much softer look into the day to day life of the company. When employees have more leverage to promote the company's message to the general public they are able to create a brand image that is real and personal for the consumers.
With this system put into place, businesses are capable of achieving a ton of positive benefits to help increase brand awareness and a positive brand image. People are more likely to read a social media post from a real person rather then directly from a company. This is mostly due to consumers being more comfortable with authentic posts. This will allow the brand to gain more engagement over all platforms. With increased engagement of course you will garner more business.
With many benefits stemming from the advocacy process there are also many available benefits for a employee to gain as well. Ultimately employees are obviously going to receive an abundance of career growth. They are able to achieve this by motioning through network growth. Employees form deeper connections with staff and other businesses from all over. This can help them grow a larger personal brand and market their work experiences with different business ventures.
It is not easy to maintain a employee advocacy campaign. It is very difficult for a company to find the right content that consumers are going to take an interest in. Another large factor is that a about half of employees don't have the motivation to reach the right audience or an audience at all. A business must take the advocacy process seriously so that it can be effective for the brand and all of the lucky employees that get the beneficiary opportunity.
